Why MBBC?
SET YOUR SON ON THE MOST EXCITING JOURNEY OF HIS LIFE

Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions you’ll make on your son’s behalf. It is in the things that can’t be seen or touched that gives a school its true value.
The right school will positively effect your son’s emotional, intellectual and spiritual development. It will teach him values to live his life by, introduce him to lasting friendships and show him how to best use his gifts and abilities. It will encourage in him a lifelong love of learning.
The right school will have a devoted community of parents, teachers and students, so your son can emerge as a confident, competent, leader of tomorrow.
The right school will set your son on a spectacular journey, opening him up to the unknown and unchartered – so that he may hold the world in his hands. And perhaps make a difference to that world.
Moreton Bay Boys’ College is committed to giving your son these opportunities – and so much more. Discover the exciting possibilities we can offer your son. Discover MBBC.
The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched, they must be felt with the heart. – Helen Keller
Moreton Bay Boys’ College believes small things make a big difference.
We take the responsibility of caring for your son very seriously.
Our independent boys’ school is intentionally small, so that we can stay personal. It is a school of integrity and compassion, where every individual is valued.
There are currently 510 boys attending Moreton Bay Boys’ College, with an anticipated 800 students in total when we reach our full size over the next few years. The school population is sized so that no boy “flies under the radar”. Each individual is known and cared for and carefully nurtured, giving him the best opportunities to expand his capabilities and experiences.
A different journey for each boy
We respect, and celebrate the diversity of our students, knowing each individual has a unique contribution to make to this world.
Here at Moreton Bay Boys’ College, we harness the unique interests, gifts and abilities of each boy. We take the time to get to know the boys, their backgrounds, motivations, interests, strengths and goals, and learning styles. It’s a different journey for each child, but we are committed to setting each on his own course, challenging and guiding him through the many opportunities his time at MBBC offers.
The educational experiences provided for a particular group of boys must match the nature of that group, be in concert with how they learn best, and assist them in dealing with the tasks that growing up presents at that age level.
Never before has the world entered a period where flexibility in learning is so vital. Today’s school students need to be independent thinkers as they will be greeted with ever-changing and new challenges, be they environmental, economic or moral. Indeed, the only certainty is that the futures these boys create will be very different to how we work and live today. Undoubtedly boys will follow several pathways in their lifetime – and they need to be able to adapt quickly and surely in each environment. What is learned now should have currency for the boys in years to come. By providing him with a toolkit for life, each boy is better prepared for the uncertainties ahead of him.
A varied program of learning and co-curricular activities means each boy can tap into the areas that help him soar, and bring him closer to his destination after school.
Our strong program of differentiation means we are able to provide the necessary extension, enrichment or learning support various boys need across subject areas, avoiding a “one size fits all” approach. Activities such as Science Week, Maths Masters, Chess and Readers Cup offer extension programs for boys with these skills and interests, while programs such as Support-a-Reader help students reach their potential.
And it is not just the mind, but a boy’s emotional intelligence that is fostered, with plenty of opportunities to join clubs and societies and partake in community activities and personal growth opportunities such as the Duke of Edinburgh.
Middle school allows boys to select from a range of electives, exploring their strengths, interest and abilities, and supporting them during this time of great physical and emotional change.
In Senior school, multiple pathways exist to facilitate his desired post school destination – whether going to university, or acquiring social skills and work place competencies through trades and vocational education and training.
A wide ranging choice of co-curricular activities allow boys to build confidence, try new experiences, become part of a team, and enjoy the spirit of competition.

Beyond the books
Some of the most important things we teach at Moreton Bay Boys’ College are not measurable in an OP score or national exam. They are of far greater value, and are far more enduring.
While not all parents have the same expectations of their school or priorities for their children, they are likely to be united in looking for a safe and supportive environment, in which their boy is happy in his learning and in himself.
Our boys’ school is built on a foundation of faith and integrity, learning, engagement, accountability, sustainability and community.
We are focused not just on the here and now – but on the man each boy will become.
We teach personal responsibility for choice and right action in the world of the individual. We focus on the relationships the boys nurture – with themselves, others and the world around them. To be independent in thought and action. To enjoy the freedom of self expression. To value ccommunication, and learn to be real – and honest.
We aim to engender enthusiasm and confidence in the new and exciting, and respect for tradition. We encourage boys to give new opportunities a “go” … and to learn from others – whether a great icon in history, an entrepreneur in the modern world, or the boy sitting next to him in the classroom. We aspire for our boys to be creative and insightful and curious. To develop a dedication to excellence as a way of life.
We like to celebrate achievements in all areas of learning – in and out of the classroom, of the heart and of the mind – whether it is a star earned in a boy’s award book, or a standing ovation from his peers. Just as importantly, we teach him how to be resilient and accept risk and failures.
Our teaching is designed not only to prepare graduates for a lifetime of learning but also to turn out the leaders the world will need for the future. The College has adopted leadership and service as the fundamental features of our program as they encapsulate so much of what is desirable in young men, inspiring them to be part of something bigger than themselves, and helping to build better communities.
In all that we do, we aim to help each boy find joy around and within them.
“It is our mind, and that alone, that chains us or sets us free.”
Dilgo Khyentse Rinpoche

JOIN OUR VIBRANT SCHOOL COMMUNITY AT MBBC
We believe in the concept that it takes a whole village to raise a man. That in each of us – parents, families, school and the greater community – boys find varied role models and ways of looking at the world. Ultimately, it is this partnership that will best teach boys values such as accountability, honesty and integrity, and help them better understand themselves and the world around them.
We aim to have our College live in the hearts of our community, through the quality of our relationships. We are passionate about building a community to belong to: connecting with and celebrating the uniqueness and great possibilities of our boys, and embracing the families to which they belong. Our families are therefore encouraged to participate, contribute and interact in their child’s education. We will do our part by welcoming you in this undertaking, creating positive relationships and engaging in open, honest and meaningful communication.
We also endeavor to find ways to involve business and community leaders in the work of the school, and to have the boys contribute back to their greater community, by bringing happiness and light to those in need.
We are all part of the great privilege to educate the young men of tomorrow.
