Moreton Bay Boys’ College offers two categories of scholarship:

  • Academic Scholarships offered to new students enrolling in Year 8, 9, 10 and 11
  • General Excellence Scholarships awarded to new students enrolling in Year 8, 9,10 and 11

Online registrations for cooperative schools testing on 25 February closed on 6 February. 

 APPLICATIONS AFTER CUTOFF DATE – 06/02/12

If you wish to submit a late registration for Moreton Bay Boy’s College please go to http://www.acer.edu.au/tests/scholarship and complete the registration form. 

The cost for each school (including a $50 late surcharge) is also shown in the table on the ACER website.

Candidates who register prior to 15 February will be able to sit at the school for which they are registering.  Candidates registering AFTER 15 February will sit the test at a designated ACER centre.  ACER will contact you via email regarding the address for this sitting once registration has been received.

Country, Overseas and Special Centre candidates are not eligible to complete a late registration.

General Excellence Scholarship

Moreton Bay Boys’ College General Excellence Scholarships are offered to students displaying general excellence in their chosen field, whether this is music, the performing arts, or the sporting arena. All applicants are required to sit an academic scholarship exam (ACER) before applying for the General Excellence scholarship as they are expected to be able to demonstrate a sound level of academic achievement.

Successful applicants may exhibit all round qualities and character or an outstanding ability in one activity or interest.

The successful applicant will be awarded up to 50% academic tuition fees and part or whole remission of music, performing arts, sport tuition/coaching fees.

Academic Scholarships  

Academic Scholarships (ACER) are available for students entering Years 8, 9, 10 and 11.

Academic Excellence Scholarships The award of a scholarship will be based on the ACER Scholarship Examination results and the subsequent interview with students and parents.

MBBC Scholarships provide up to 50% on tuition fees only. All scholarships can be tenable for the duration of the student’s secondary education, but conditional upon annual review. There is an expectation that students will contribute to MBBC life as well as support the ethos of the College.

Examinations for these scholarships are held in the first half of the year prior to commencing. These examinations are conducted by the Australian Centre for Educational Research (ACER), in conjunction with Moreton Bay Boys’ College. If you are interested in having your child sit for a scholarship, please register by following the procedure outlined below, no later than Friday 16 December 2011 to receive the Early Bird discount. The final cut-off date for registrations is Monday 6 February 2012.

Details of Testing
The scholarship examination will be held on Saturday 25 February 2012 at Moreton Bay Boys’ College Senior Studies Centre beginning at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at approximately 11:00 a.m. The Early Bird scholarship application fee is $110.00. Registrations received after this date and before the deadline will cost $125.
