Premier Campbell Newman meets College Captains
Local member for Lytton, Neil Symes invited us together with Manly West State School and Premier Campbell Newman to view the new initiative of flashing lights and the new 40 km speed limit signs on Manly road.
Head of College Mr Tony Wood was there to meet Mr Campbell Newman and Mr Neil Symes and our captains Liam Luppino and Kai Liepins were present. Manly West State school representatives also attended. “The safety of our students is paramount.” said Mr Wood. “We are really pleased that local and state government are collaborating with local state schools and independent schools to do something about it”.
Mr Newman, Mr Symes, Principal of Manly West State School and Mr Wood, all observed the newly installed flashing lights at the front of MWSS and MBBC. These flashing lights will be another addition to remind drivers to drive with care around school zones. Currently the flashing lights in 40k school zones are being rolled out across Brisbane.
Mr Newman was also able to congratulate Kai on being announced Leo Youth of the Year.
