2017 OP Results

18 December 2017

2017 was an outstanding year for MBBC on many levels. Today we congratulate our senior boys on their commitment and dedication to their studies which is reflected in the OP and QCS results which were released on Friday. We are very proud of you all.

As a College, MBBC takes great pride in enabling a diverse range of pathways allowing our boys to achieve their individual goals. As a non-selective College, we encourage students to embrace their strengths and pursue whatever avenue they choose. MBBC believes in the fundamental principle that all students have the right to be educated to their fullest potential.
While we are extremely proud of the boys’ academic successes in 2017, especially our OP 1- 5 boys, we are just as proud of the boys who have been successful in obtaining VET qualifications enabling them to pursue further education and employment.

We also extend our sincere appreciation to parents for your unwavering support in the pursuit of providing an outstanding experience for your sons and your commitment to the partnership we have in working together to achieve this.
The table below highlights the performance of our Seniors of 2017:

OP %
1 – 5 18%
1 – 10 36%
1 – 15 73%

We especially recognise and congratulate our College Dux Matthew Rogers who received an OP 2 and Ben Roxburgh who was the College Proximae Accessit who received an OP 3.
Pleasingly, 30% of OP eligible students at MBBC achieved either an A or B on the QCS test. We are thrilled that 100% of our boys received a QCE while 29% of them also received a VET qualification.
Achieving the best educational outcome for each individual student is always the main objective for MBBC and one we feel we have again achieved.

Congratulations to all of the Senior students of 2017. You have our full support as you embark on the next stage of your journey.

Sincerely yours

James Sloman
Executive Principal
